UAW Local 647 Picnic

The 2018 UAW Local 647 Family Picnic will be held Saturday, September 15th from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm at the Union Hall.

This event is open to all current and retired members of Local 647. We will be cooking hot dogs, Metts, and hamburgers. Please bring your favorite covered dish and dessert to share.

Fun games and activities for all. Bingo, raffles, and split the pot start at 1pm, corn hole tournament starts at 2pm.

Volunteers needed to help with Games/Food/Parking.

Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program

The Richard T. Gosser Scholarship Program is now accepting applications from the daughters and sons of UAW Region 2B Affiliated Local members who will graduate from high school in 2019. The ACT test is required and scores must be sent to the region office.

Finalists are based on ACT scores and will be notified in writing. As a finalist, applications are assessed by a team of prominent community leaders and educators, who then select the winners based on ACT scores, class rank, extra-curricular activities, letters of recommendation, personality traits and leadership abilities. Documentation regarding class rank, extra-curricular activities, letters of recommendation, personality traits and leadership abilities are required from all finalist, but not required with the initial application.

The application must be postmarked by October 15, 2018. This deadline is firm, and no exceptions will be made.

This is a great opportunity for your seniors. Local 647 has had winners of this scholarship in the past.

New computer class registration is on August 30th from 12:30pm to 4:00pm at the UAW 647 Union Hall.

Cold War Patriots Information

If you worked at Fernald, Mound or GE in the nuclear weapons or uranium industries and have health issues caused by exposure during the time you worked at a nuclear weapons facility, you may qualify for monetary compensation and free health benefits through the U.S. government.

Membership Meeting

Market Based Wage Discussions

To all Union Members, based on the company's final proposal, and advice of the International Union, UAW Local 647 and IAM Lodge 912 Bargaining Committee's, we rejected the company's final proposal on market based wages on Monday, August 15, 2016.
